Raven Skull Round Window Hanging - Gothic Suncatcher Art

A circular composition built on absolute symmetry, where two ravens hold their positions like sentries and refuse to move. Nothing here rushes. The image asks to be read slowly, from the centre outward.

Design Story

The visual anchor is a pale bird skull, crowned with scrollwork and a single red stone, set against deep crimson and warm amber panels segmented in a stained-glass-looking pattern. The ravens face inward, wings folded, their dark plumage absorbing light while the skull reflects it — the contrast that carries the whole design. Below, black roses and thorned vines soften the geometry; above, bare branches fracture the red field into fine shards. Small bat medallions and faceted red accents mark the cardinal points of the border, giving the eye four resting places around the disc. The tension is not action but suspension: gothic symbolism held in perfect balance.

Window & Light Styling

The round window hanging format suits this piece exactly, since the artwork was composed for a circle — border rings, medallions and central axis all follow the disc silhouette. Placed against a window, the crimson and amber fields read as the brightest zones, while the ravens and roses hold their darkness, giving the composition depth from across a room.
