Plague Doctor Round Window Hanging - Gothic Suncatcher

Some designs shout. This one just stares back. A masked plague doctor sits dead center in a circular frame, beaked profile turned three-quarters toward you, and the stillness is exactly what makes it unsettling.

Design Story

The composition works because everything orbits one focal point. The pale beaked mask catches the eye first, its bone-colored curve cutting against a deep charcoal cloak and a wide black hat. Behind it, a full moon and bare cathedral spires fill the negative space without competing. Then the border does the heavy lifting: deep crimson panels in a stained-glass-looking segmented ring, gold scrollwork, red cabochon accents, twin hourglasses flanking the figure at the horizontal axis, poppy pods along the lower curve, and a serpent-and-rod medallion anchoring the base. Red, gold, black — three colors, zero confusion. The hourglass symmetry gives the round format a real sense of balance, and the hanging chain at the top completes the circle rather than interrupting it.

Window & Light Styling

As a round window hanging, the circular disc silhouette is the whole point — the border ornamentation follows the curve instead of fighting it. Placed light-facing in a window or doorway, the crimson segments and central mask read as a single strong statement piece.
